Your home is your sanctuary…a place to relax, unwind, breathe. Your drapery should set your personal stage for serenity. Kravet Couture introduces their new Modern Novelties Collection–metallic threads, intricate embroideries, open cut out designs and delicate sheers make up this selection of simply gorgeous draperies. The natural earth tones provide a simple elegance which enhances the beauty of the room around them while providing a fitting frame for the view beyond them. The metallics and cut outs mirror current fashion trends as well. The intricate details in these simple fabrics provide a light and airy feel while promoting peace within your walls.

Paris Texas Hardware understands the old saying, “Time is money.” We are so impressed with their quick ship option on orders within the Somerset, Villiers and Dominion collections. Within 48 hours of placing a phone order with them, we received our hardware; and there was no extra cost for the faster delivery. PTH was a pleasure to work with, and their customer service was stellar. Plus, their finials, holdbacks and other accessories are unique and show-stopping. They even offer custom rod lengths cut to within an eighth of an inch of your specifications for no additional charge. We are huge fans of Paris Texas Hardware!

Practicality, Versatility, Safety and Function marry in the new Vignette Modern Roman Shades by Hunter Douglas. Choose from traditional or tailored shades which roll up and disappear; tiered shades which are most similar to classic Roman shades and fold perfectly every time; and traversed shades which slide side to side to offer a solution for sliding glass doors. You can choose your ideal style through a variety of colors and textures as well. These shades are a great match for the family with small children or pets since they have no exposed cords. And, they are installed quickly and provide your home with easy-to-maintain elegance. See for yourself!

Bring the delicate beauty of Ikat silk outdoors with Beacon Hill’s Outdoor Ikat fabric collection. Woven with Sunbrella yarns, they are durable and easily cleaned with a surprising softness that might just make it your favorite part of outside! “Outdoor Ikats is a collection where each and every pattern is an interpretation of an original silk ikat from Uzbekistan. Ikats are distinctive design motifs, and this collection celebrates their unique contours in outdoor constructions,” said Alexis Audette, operating vice president of design for Beacon Hill. You may use them outside or prefer to keep the gentle feel inside; but, wherever you display them, your Outdoor Ikats are sure to become a delightful conversation piece!

Global inspiration brings the world to your home

March 29th, 2012

Salām from Dubai!!

We recently returned to Texas from an incredible and inspirational visit to Dubai. The culture, the people and the sites warmed us; and the local textiles and spices fueled our passion for creativity and innovations in our designs. The Dubai integration of muted and bold colors within a varied collection of patterns stirred us and remained at the forefront of our design plans for the future as we returned home to similar fine details mimicked in this season’s fabrics.

By framing your windows with these fabrics, you, too, will experience the warm breeze and breathe in the warm and spicy fragrances of the Dubai spice souk…cinnamon, coriander, saffron, cloves and frankincense.

Southern Belle turned Big Apple Sensation Charlotte Moss has been known to bend a few rules and incorporate many cultures into designs that epitomize American style. Her new collections with Fabricut include materials boasting subtle patterns, bold patterns, bright colors and muted colors as diverse and impressive as the inspirational female explorers and travelers for whom they are named. And, her collection of trim adds a pop of culture with the look and the names of big cities from Moss’ travels around the globe.

Life and all its experiences inspire Moss. She was quoted in a recent Elle Decor article:

“We designers act as filters, sopping up what we see, where we go and who we meet. Everything funnels through and ends up somewhere, sometime, in what we do and create.”

While her philosophy–”live passionately, decorate luxuriously and entertain beautifully”–is as big and bold as her designs; her focus remains steadfast: “Fine-tune your point of view. It’s what defines style.”

Her energy, passion and focus are characteristics Custom Drapery Designs, LLC. seeks to emulate in our own creations. The sketch here provides an example of our pairing of a Kravet fabric with a Charlotte Moss delicate glass bead trim. This combination stuns with gathered puckers and graduating height and reminds us of the warm light of a lamp reflecting on a tent during one memorable dinner in Dubai.

Another exciting fabric line we have added is Trend, a division of Fabricut, with outstanding quality and style at an affordable price. Their Jaclyn Smith Home Collection can give your drapes an unforgettable look that is sure to have your guests’ attentions!

We believe in the importance of every detail of drapery design, which is why we are excited about the Helser Brothers Artisan forged iron drapery hardware. The pictured prototype is a breath-taking inspiration for some of our upcoming projects.

Brothers-turned-business partners, Jay and Mark Helser founded their company in 1996 on their principles of hard work; commitment to outstanding customer service; and production of well-built, visually stunning hardware.

So, you want to maximize the masterpiece of nature’s art as seen through your prized bay or bow windows; but how do you work around those curves?

Simple.

Brimar and Orion Ornamental Iron, Inc., provide options galore to frame and highlight the view from your special windows.

With seven modern metal hardware collections to choose from, including the popular indoor/outdoor Cabana Collection featured in our last blog and the stylish Signature Metal Collection, Brimar proves “bending is their business.” Fall in love with your perfect collection and match up the rod and finial style that fits your home. Then, let Brimar do the work to make your vision come alive.

Any design can be bent to your window’s specifications, and you can stack most styles to double and even triple. From simple and elegant to big and bold, Orion has a choice that makes your picture window truly picturesque.

Your search for just the right hardware to accent a wall or two of windows or sparkling french doors may end with Orion’s swing arms. No longer just for use over doors to swing drapes open and shut with entry, swing arms crown stationary panels with elegance. Again, your options are innumerable: 8 styles, 31 finishes each and the choices to further customize or curve the arms and add rings…the sky out your windows is, indeed, the limit!

Accentuate your positives with Brimar’s versatile hardware and trim collections. In addition to the Signature Metal Collection featured above with Brimar’s custom bent drapery rods, 19 other collections in a variety of finishes provide choices that fit any style–from the old world “Archive” Collection to a more modern, daring “Ice” and earthy “Botanica” to the other-worldly “Manhattan”. Piece together poles, finials, brackets and rings and add matching tieback rosettes to complete your collection.

Whether you want to add brightness and light or enhance more muted, soothing tones in your decor, you will find the perfect trim within Brimar’s 23 expansive collections. Select solids, prints or geometric designs on Jacquard tape or choose from a multitude of other trims, including braided tape, gimp, lipcord, tassels, fringe and rosettes.

Fabricut draws inspiration for your fabric choices from the colors of the skies. Bring outside in with your drapery! Play off breathtaking golds, blues and chartreuses in a harvest sunset or the playful posies, purples and peaches of a springtime sunrise. Let the sun kiss your home all year!

Selections for every style

August 12th, 2011

One of the most exciting parts of our job is sharing new fabric and design trends with our clients; another is helping them find just the right fabric and hardware. We think you just might share our enthusiasm once you see some of the latest options for decorating the world around you.

Sometimes it’s the details that add huge flair when it comes to decorating. Brimar’s selection of grommets is more extensive than ever. With round and square metal-finished, decorative and enamel-painted brass options, Brimar has a grommet for you! Nature inspires the colors and textures in Calvin Klein Homes’ new collection of trimmings; and only Kravet has them!

Robert Allen recently released its Modern Library Collection. This eclectic fabric selection alone has enough style options to please almost any taste with designs showcasing both bright and muted colors and patterns ranging from bold and daring to intricate and minute as well as traditional prints with a modern flair. The options include 113 designs between two color schemes: Magenta/Prussian/Sunset and Slate/Twine/Pool. With the diversity in the Modern Library Collection, feminine meets masculine; and they live in perfect harmony!

Another collection offering an impressively wide variety comes to us from Fabricut. Collier Campbell–the sister duo which has been wowing the design world since the early sixties–has released their third and final collaborative collection: Exotic Inspirations. Like the Modern Library compilation, this Collier Campbell selection of diverse fabrics provides an option or two for just about every style. Whether you want warmth, calm, inspiration or elegance, you can find it in the thirteen patterns and their four distinct color themes: cinnamon and stone, duck egg and sand, peacock and emerald and white and bright. With options like these, prepare to let your imagination run wild! All of us in the interior design world grieve with Sarah Campbell on the recent loss of her sister, Susan Collier, and celebrate her life through their Exotic Inspirations collection.

If you’re all about the cheerfulness and playfulness of bright colors, the new Lilly Pulitzer for Lee Jofa Fabric Collection may be just what your home needs. For more than a half century, Lilly Pulitzer’s creativity has brightened homes around the country; and, today, Lee Jofa brings her cheery selection to you. It’s certain to bring a smile to your face and a glow to your home on the bleakest of days!

Fabric adds fun and flair to any room, but we can’t forget what holds it all up and keeps it in place–HARDWARE! Brimar does not disappoint with its elegant Versailles Drapery Hardware, an updated look made with an ancient art form–water gilding. Artists carefully hand-craft each of these stunning masterpieces by layering gesso, red clay and gold or silver leaf. Precise polishing provides an antique finish to the pieces as well. Four finishes are available: antique gold, silver and bronze gilt as well as hand-painted dark walnut. The meticulous work certainly pays off, making Brimar’s Versailles Collection a must-have! Another Brimar option worth viewing is its dramatic and practical Cabana collection of corrosion-resistant hardware–made to withstand outdoor use by the salty sea, it’s stunning enough to find its way inside. This collection will keep rust at bay while providing a classic look that’s hard to ignore. While you should use it outside or in your bathroom, you’ll find yourself wanting to utilize it throughout your living area.

You may wonder if the right style for your home or office exists–maybe everything you’ve seen before this blog is too dull, too bright; too obvious, too forgettable; too modern, too old-school. Whatever your eyes desire, Custom Drapery Designs, LLC, will help you find just the right decor to match your lifestyle.

Small changes make a big statement

May 31st, 2011

Clients often come to us looking for ways to simply update their decor. They don’t want a total makeover, just something simple to spice things up a bit. One way we recommend achieving this is by personalizing the cornice boards. This simple update can be done in various ways, each with a number of unique styles to make your choice all about you!

Diamond Head upholstery tacks provide one option to add either a design element to cornice boards or an elegant and eye-catching trim.

Eye of the Tiger upholstery tack by Diamond Head

Turquoise Matrix upholstery tack by Diamond Head

Kaleidoscope Diamond tack by Diamond Head

Let your personality shine through with your choice of their 12 stones in two collections. Some examples include the mesmerizing Eye of the Tiger, the captivating Turquoise Matrix and the stunning Kaleidoscope Diamond. Turn an ordinary cornice board into an extraordinary piece of art.

Helser Brothers Evita line of wrought iron ornamental pieces

If your style is more earthy and homey while still elegant, may we suggest some ornamental iron pieces from Helser Brothers, Inc., or Orion Ornamental Iron, Inc. These works of art are sure to add warmth and an understated beauty and charm to any room. We’re excited about Helser’s Evita line of wrought iron pieces and their Tableaux Custom Motifs’ option that offers the look and feel of real iron for less.

As an added option for personalization, you can create your own iron design; and the artist will make it to your specifications!

A beautiful iron addition by Orion Drapery Hardware

We typically choose a flush mount of the iron art to attach to the face of fabric-wrapped cornice–it makes for fantastic built-in artwork!

Create your fairy tale design with a “mirror, mirror on the wall.” A skilled glass cutter can create for you a beveled edge or etched design on glass that accentuates the dramatic effects of sweeping silk panels. With the uniquely personal addition of glass, you can magnify the light and color in your room while making a striking statement you can live happily ever after with.

Often loved ones bequeath to us beautiful heirlooms which deserve much better than to be stored away in jewelry boxes or trunks. Dust off your grandmother’s stunning brooch and ready it to add your own personal touch to your draperies. For added flair, place it in an off-set manner, such as attached to the tie-back or leading drapery edge.

If your style demands a stronger statement and the addition of rich warmth only wood can provide, Hunter Douglas has the wood cornice just for you. With various carved designs and gorgeous stains to choose from, you can find just the right combination to bring it all together in your home. Each cornice, which is assembled and finished by hand out of 100% domestic wood, makes the most appropriate crown for traverse drapery or wide-width stationary panels.

Custom Drapery Designs looks forward to assisting you in finding small ways to express your style in big fashion!

Grandeur and Artistry in Custom Drapery

February 11th, 2011

Featuring Fabricut, Stout fabrics and Kasmir trimOur client’s home featured a comfortable balance of rustic elegance.  The formal living room featured an oversized chocolate suede velvet sofa, large mirrors, treasured family art, and soft accent pillows and accessories.  The room had an open feel with tall ceilings and featured equally tall arched windows.  The homeowner expressed an interest in a cohesive drapery design which would highlight the unique arch, and desired grandeur.  “Add plenty of character, texture, and artistry to the wall.”  The homeowner added.

This would be a drapery designers dream come true!   We began sketching an inventive scalloped swag to contour the arches, and then incorporated panels which framed the windows to highlight the architecture and outside landscape.   Our clients loved the direction and looked forward to the completed project.

We fell in love with a fantastic textured basket weave linen in tea stain which was the perfect complement to the rustic feel of the room.  With this fabric as our inspiration and working with warm tones of soft greens and browns, we chose a cream dupioni silk fabric for the contoured swags, as well as an exaggerated width decorative band on the leading edge of the 1 1/2 width drapery panels.  The drapery panels were interlined for optimal body and structure.

The scalloped swags were secured with artistically carved medallions in a blended finish of gold and grey.  In combination, the elegant drapery was adorned by narrow width fluted poles, rings, and distinct traditional style finials. Bold loop braid embellishment accentuates the swags, highlighting the leading edge.  Ornate tassel tiebacks drape from the last medallion similar to that of a cascade.   Crystal and woven tassel braid with gorgeous details were applied to the leading edge of the drapery, distinguishing the blend of two fabrics.  With the grand height in the room, we chose couture quality design elements by utilizing exquisite six-inch traditional pinch pleats.  The additional length worked beautifully in scale, adding an additional punch of drama.  For the final touch, tassels secured the full-bodied panels within a slight bishop sleeve gather, to then ease onto the dark wood scraped floors.

To achieve our design vision we placed careful consideration when measuring and while fabricating to size and scale within each element; focusing on each swags’ drape and location at the window, to the exaggerated contour in front of the panels.  Equally important was to achieve a full swag without losing the folds.  Multiple mock swags were tested to determine the best technique and achieve the look we desired.

The collaboration of custom features and attention to detail were breathtaking as the final touches were completed.  Our clients were pleased with the soft flow, elegance in texture, and collaboration of stunning details.  Our dream, our vision was complete.

Minimalism; Understatement is Back in Fashion!

December 9th, 2010

The art of fashion creates a movement in design, influencing style.  Understatement is back in fashion!

The modern style of minimalism has created a wave of interest within the stores and has now created impact within the homes interior.  Minimalist design is essentially stripped down to the most fundamental of features with simple silhouettes, unfussy clean lines, neutral with a monochromatic palette.  To effectively create drama with contemporary drapery requires a succinct sense of proportion and confidence with knowing how fabrics will fall and move.

Modern minimalist drapery design explores the fundamentals of space, light and materials while avoiding stylistic mannerisms; incorporating bold geometric forms along with polished finishes and asymmetrical balance.  Texture is also important when creating warmth and comfort in contemporary minimalist drapery design by integrating the subtle or varied textures and the introduction of natural fibers, such as linen, cotton, wood, or silk.

A perfect complement to the contemporary style – Hunter Douglas introduces Design Studio, a collection of fabulous woven fabrics with blends of cottons, linens, and silks from around the world.  Design Studio fabrics are woven in widths that allow shades to be made up to 96 inches wide without being interrupted by seams.  The Design Studio Roman Shades, which feature high-quality construction, are offered in four distinct shade styles: Batten Front, Batten Back,  Hobble and Flat.

Other exceptional modern shade options are the Hunter Douglas Provenance Woven Wood Shades, Vignettes, the Designer Roller Shades, Designer Screen Shades, and Skyline.  For further product information, visit www.HunterDouglas.com.

Fabricut features a fabulous Signature Series open-weave linen burlap featuring warm colors and exceptional texture.

We look forward to the opportunity to design for your personal style! Visit our website and portfolio at www.CustomDraperyDesigns.net.   Join us on Facebook as well!

Remember to explore your options and express yourself!

Custom Drapery Designs is co-hosting a Happy Hour Event with the Dallas Kravet Fabric Showroom and GrandLuxe Magazine in January 2011.  The theme will be Renewing Yourself for the New Year, introducing the latest in high-fashion, featuring Ralph Lauren and Oscar de la Renta interior high-end fabric selections, unique drapery hardware, innovations in motorized drapery with BTX motorization, beautiful and dramatic style window design, Hunter Douglas products, and Texton’s newest product introduction – The William House Shutter, and on and on.

This Season Brings Fashion to the Interiors

October 5th, 2010

We credit our success in the window design industry to relationships with key vendors who provide outstanding support and valuable resources; the key to Custom Drapery Designs’ continued growth.  We recently visited with our sales representative for Kravet and Lee Jofa, and quickly discovered exciting new fashions in color, trends in texture, style, and beautiful high quality fabrics at affordable prices, …… and on and on.   After our visit, Custom Drapery Designs was inspired with fresh ideas – amazingly dictated by the fabric’s style and vibrant color

The textile industry is alive with so much movement, modernization and breathtaking new direction.  With this new energy, we were curious to learn more, so we posed questions to Jana McCurdy, our Kravet Fabric and Lee Jofa sales representative, and the discussion was worth sharing:

When visiting last week, I was impressed with the latest fashionable colors and adorned fabrics by Oscar de la Renta for Lee Jofa.  When bringing fashion to the interiors, which colors have left the runway to dress our homes this season?

Fabrics play an extraordinary important role in fashion and home interiors.  Fashion begins on the runway and is then translated into home interiors.  There are many fashion styles to chose from.  For example, Calvin Klein offers cool elegant taupes and greys in transitional designs and textures.  Oscar de la Renta caters to the high end designer that is looking for pops of color such as eggplant, red, yellow and classic blue.  The attached images are fabric patterns that were taken from Oscar de la Renta’s fashion line and are now offered to the interior designer.

What are the top selling haute couture fabrics featured currently by Lee Jofa?

Lee Jofa recently won 5 out of 7 Home and Garden awards that were judged by independent designers.

1.  Best embroidered fabric – the new Oriana silk from Mulberry.  (no image available)

2. Best small print design -Mirage from Threads Meander collection.

3.  Best blow-the-budget fabric award – Balthazar from the new Mulberry Heirloom collection.  (no image available)

4. Runner-up for the best fabric under 30 metre – Foxy from Lifestyles Foxwood collection.

5. Runner-up for the best fabric collection award – the Threads Meander collection.

Equally exciting are the new Ralph Lauren fabrics for Kravet.  What are the colors and prints highlighted in the latest collection?  Ralph Lauren and Kravet have also introduced the Lauren Americana collection.  What are the key elements to highlight with this collection?

Ralph Lauren offers fabrics that are classic traditional and lifestyle oriented.

The latest collection from Ralph Lauren is the Heiress collection.  Mr. Lauren does an outstanding job of creating “lifestyle” collections.  He envisions a particular lifestyle and creates a collection of fabrics that fit that lifestyle.  The Heiress collection consists of fabrics that are elegant and luxurious with a hint of glamour.  The ivory damask pattern on a soft silk/linen blend ground cloth is a gorgeous fabric for the window.  The subtle silk stripe works beautifully with the large scale damask on a linen groundcloth.  The solid taupe with a touch of metallic woven throughout will give any room a hint of glamour.  This fabric collection can be used in any area of the home and will make you feel like you are living the life of an heiress.

The Lauren brand of fabrics are classic traditional and also very affordable.  This category of fabric consists of linen and cotton floral prints as well as upholstery weight fabrics and matelasses.  The colors are classic traditional colors such as blues, deep reds and brown.  The fabrics are timeless.

What are the top selling prints featured currently by Kravet?

The top selling prints from Kravet are Lorton and Latika.  Both of these prints are screen printed on a linen groundcloth.

Kravet has also introduced the Kravet Smart collection.  What are the key elements to highlight with this collection?

Kravet Smart is a category of fabrics that are created to allow the consumer to have a high quality fabric at an affordable price point.  The fabrics in this category consist of upholstery weight, silk, faux embellished silk, 118″ sheers and silk velvets.  Many of the upholstery weight fabrics from Kravet Smart are free when they are used on any of Kravet’s furniture frames.  Kravet Smart can be summed up in one word “VALUE”.

Thom Filicia is the latest designer to collaborate with Kravet.  What are the key elements to highlight with this collection?

Thom Felicia is an interior designer that is well known for his part in the hit television show “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy”.  His fabric collection offers designers a transitional style at a low to mid price point.  Thom Filicia’s focus as an interior designer, has always been with his clients.  Thom finds a way to truly tailor his client’s homes to a lifestyle that is uniquely their own.  His new fabric collection for Kravet is a way to introduce a style, he says, that is “fresh, modern and accessible”.  His fabric represents these ideals through a selection of prints and weaves in contemporary patterns and colors like yellow, grey, blue, orange, and natural.  He is known for his thoughtfully personalized interiors, which feature richly layered textures and colors for a lived-in yet highly sophisticated look.

When reviewing the latest Kravet and Lee Jofa fabric collections, what is expected to be the hottest trend in fabrics this season: texture, color combinations, print?  i.e. big flowers or murals with painterly effects or brush stroke prints on linen and silk.

The hottest trend this season seems to be all shades of the color purple (raisin, eggplant, lavender).  Kravet is introducing a new collection from Kravet Couture that consists of traditional and transitional weaves and silks in fig (purple), blanc (light neutrals), and indigo (classic blue).  This is the first time in several years that Kravet has created a collection that is heavily focused on the color purple.  Lee Jofa’s new Oscar de la Renta collection includes purple as well.

Kravet Couture:

Oscar de la Renta:

Which textile looks to be in high demand this season: embellished sheers, embroidered silks and sheers, geometric modern designs, the exotic Ikat patterns, large prints on heavy linens and cottons, textural weaves?

Design is becoming more tailored and clean, therefore less is more.  Tassel trims are used less often and tapes and gimps are used more often since they give a room a tailored look.  Solid textures in neutral colors are used on the large furniture pieces and geometric and Ikat fabrics are popular for small accent furniture pieces (example -small chairs, benches, and ottomans).  Linen sheers and linen (prints and solids) are in high demand for dressing the window.  Barbara Barry and Windsor Smith have been very popular across the country and they are gaining strength in Texas as well.  Dallas, Texas is beginning to embrace a cleaner more tailored style, therefore collections such as Barbara Barry, Windsor Smith, Candice Olson, and Thom Filicia are becoming “high demand” fabric collections for the home.

A Classic Drapery with Modern Flair

August 24th, 2010

Custom Drapery Designs considers every detail when designing cohesive beautiful drapery designs to complement our client’s exquisite interiors.  We have a great time working with our clients, and would like to share our design challenges and successes…..

featuring Robert Allen modern drapery hardwareOur client lived uptown with a passion for collecting ornate art sculptures and acrylic canvas art.  Her decor style reflected clean lines and modern design.  Stunning furniture, such as large clear glass table tops with brushed metal frames, old wood furniture pieces with modern silhouettes, and a beautiful Chinese rug with soft grey, beige and purple hues welcome her guests while entertaining.

We were to address a side wall of twin windows with a long narrow dining and living room combination.  Our client was interested in drapery which would warm the room and complement her artful surroundings.  Our drapery inspiration was to create a sheer and silk drapery overlay; blending the soft grey and purple hues.  Adding chrome hardware to accent the brushed metal furniture.  We recommended the European top tuck pleating, creating beautiful pleats without distraction in design.

For the drapery fabrics, we decided on a fabulous textured beige and oat linen open weave for the overlay, combined with a mocha dupioni silk as the body.  Full bodied wide width panels dress each window to finish with a slight break on the floor.  The drapery hardware was specifically chosen to model after the contemporary art pieces which featured a brushed metal finish, block finials and streamline cut rings.  To achieve great structure and desired fullness, the drapery panels were lined and interlined.

After installation, the drapery flowed beautifully with the overlay sheer and silk drapery creating a perfect blend of color and linear flow.  Our client was thrilled with the perfect combination of graceful style and modern flair.

We look forward to the opportunity to design drapery as a timeless work of art; considering the home owner’s personality, budget, and lifestyle while complementing the interior and enhancing the outdoor view.  Visit our website and portfolio at www.CustomDraperyDesigns.net and Custom Drapery Designs/Facebook.

Extreme Ideas Redefine Custom in Drapery

2010 Explodes with Innovative Window Design Technology

Fabric by Fabricut, Trim by Golden TasselThe Vision10: International Window Covering Expo (IWCE) took place this year in Atlanta, GA, from May 13 – 15.  Industry professionals from around the world gathered to demonstrate the latest window design technology and enhancements.   Demonstrating there are no limits with the imagination!  The following highlights and inspirations were gathered collectively from our notes as we attended this year’s Expo:

Hunter Douglas Premieres:

Hunter Douglas is launching PowerRise 2.0 with Platinum Technology that enables the battery powered system to quietly raise and lower shades and control vane tilt for a number of their products;  using a more powerful motor to control larger-sized shades.  Remote controls program all or product groups to raise and now available in wireless wall switches!

Introducing the Hunter Douglas Tiered Vignette with simple yet impressive style.  The Applause Honeycomb shade offers a Crystalline sheer fabric, along with the new Vintage fabric, which provides a stylish look at the window, and has minimal impact on the environment, made with 40% recycled fibers.

Hunter Douglas Nantucket shading has introduced an innovative screen fabric which combines the look of a screen shade with the added benefits of superior light control and privacy.   Providing dual-openness; 28% openness when tilted open and 1% openness when fully closed providing nighttime privacy that typical screen shades do not offer.

Innovative hardware selections:

Paris Texas Hardware has recently expanded their hardware collection by introducing the new Portfolio collection.  Finely sculpted hardware pieces may be hand painted by choosing from a selection of 24 custom finishes, additionally any Benjamin Moore paint colors.

Brimar Hardware has gone streamline with their Manhattan collection which presents original modern hardware epitomizing the long lines and slender form of urban architecture. The savvy collection is available in a mélange of surfaces, such as stainless steel, tortoise shell, dark beech wood, shimmery pearl, clear acrylic, and knotted wood.   Fashionable contoured rings glide effortlessly over an unusually flat and narrow rod.  Unique, modern……..art.

Creativity can be brought to extreme levels with the introduction of inspirational hardware elements.  For example, square rings, leather strap rings, Circle rings within a ring, clear Plexi-glass rods with chrome finials and rings, fashionable rivets available in chrome or variety of colors,  steel magnetic rings or tiebacks – (so strong they are not recommended for homes with pacemakers).

Enhance designs with ornate iron hardware or by utilizing Tableaux, which provides the look and feel of custom wrought iron.  Tableaux is lightweight and custom crafted to any size or shape.  With a wide selection of designs and the ability to easily create new ones, the decorative options are endless.
